VirusScan 8.5.0i Dat Update Instructions
- Find the VirusScan icon in the bottom-right hand corner of the screen in the Task Tray.
- Right-click the VirusScan icon and choose Update Now... .
- The Update in Progress dialog box will appear. If you are on the Troy Alabama campus, your update will come from the Troy repository. If not, after a few moments, the update session will change to the NAI site located at McAfee.
- You will notice the program cycle through and check your system and compare your current virus configuration to the recommended configuration.
- After virus DAT files, virus engines, and patches have been downloaded and installed, you will see the message Update Finished. You can either click the Close command button or wait until the auto close dialog counts down to zero.
- After you have ran the manual update process you may want to follow the Check DAT Update instructions to see if your virus software updated. Click here to visit the Check DAT update page.
