VirusScan 8.5.0i - Installation instructions
- Locate the McAfee Virus Scan installation file and double click the file. (If you clicked run from the download instruction page, go to step 3)
- If you are presented this Open File - Security Warning dialog box, click Run. If not, go to step 3.
- Click Run at the Security Warning dialog box.
- After reading the statement click OK.
- A Self-Extractor dialog box appears.
- Click Next on the McAfee VirusScan Enterprise Setup dialog box.
- Click the License expire type: drop down box and select Perpetual from the menu item list.
- Click the I accept the terms in the license agreement radio button.
- Click the OK command button.
- Click Next on the Select Setup Type dialog box.
- Click Next on the Select Access Protection Level dialog box.
- Click Install on the Ready to install dialog box.
- An Installing McAfee VirusScan Enterprise progress dialog box will appear.
- When installation has completed successfully, click the Finish command button.
- An Update in Progress dialog box will appear. NOTE: The Update will first try and update from the Troy University repository. If your computer is not currently on the Troy University Campus network, the software will automatically update from the NAI repository.
- Once the software has successfully located a valid repository, the software will start the update process.
- After the update has completed, you can click the Close command button or wait until the auto close counter reaches zero.
- Please Wait while the Run on-Demand Scan launches.
- The On-Demand Scan Progress dialog box will appear. This scan may take several minutes. Please be patient.
- After On-Demand Scan has completed, you will be prompted to restart your computer. Save and close all programs. Then click Yes.
- Your system will restart.
- After your system restarts, follow these instructions to check your version.
