Outlook XP/2003 Setup (Screenshots)
Setup Outlook 2003 to check your Trojan E-mail account:
1. Open Outlook
2. Select on Tools from the menu bar

3. Next, select E-mail Accounts from the menu

4. In the new window that opens, select the radio button for Add a new e-mail account, then choose Next

5. Select the radio button to choose POP3, then click Next

6. Fill in the field for your name, e-mail address and password. For the Incoming mail server (POP3) and the Outgoing mail server (SMTP), type in: mail.troy.edu. Next, click on the button in the bottom right for More Settings

7. In the new window, select the Outgoing Server tab at the top of the window
8. Click on the check box labeled My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Under that, make sure the radio button labeled Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected.
9. Click on the Advanced tab
10. Check the two boxes labeled This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL). After this is done, make sure the Incoming Server (POP3) is set to 995. Also make sure the Outgoing server (SMTP) is set to 25.
11. Click OK
12. Click Next and then select Finish
Your e-mail client is now configured to access your Trojan E-mail account.
If you are using Norton Antivirus, make sure that Outbound E-mail Scanning is disabled in Norton Antivirus. With this setting enabled, you will not be able to send e-mail via Outlook.
