Thunderbird (WIndows) Setup (Text Only)

Setup Thunderbird to check your Trojan E-mail account:

1. Open Mozilla Thunderbird

2. Click on Tools - Account Settings:

3. In the Account Settings WIndow, click the Add Account button in the bottom left:

4. In the New Account set up window, select the Email Account button, then click Next:

5. In the Next Window, enter your name in the Your Name field. Then, enter your Troy email address in the Email Address field. Then click Next:

6. In the Server Information window, please make sure POP is selected. In the Incoming Server field, enter mail.troy.edu Then click Next:

7. In the next window, make sure your username is correct, then click Next:

8. In the next window, in the account name field, you may enter Troy email, then click Next:

9. In the next window, click Finish

10. In the Account Settings window, click on Server Settings in the left menu. In the Security Settings area on the right, select the SSL button.

11. Next, go to the Outgoing Server (SMTP) menu item on the left. Select your Troy email account, then click Edit:

12. In the SMTP Server window, check the box next to User name and password. Under Use secure connection, select TLS, then click OK:

13. In the Account Settings Window, you may click OK

14. In Thunderbird, click on Get Mail to download your messages:
