Current Training Offered by the Information Technology Department

The Information Technology Department seeks to provide training services for Troy University to advance institutional effectiveness by providing training opportunities designed to enhance employee security, knowledge, and performance in the area of Information Technology..

The following workshops are now available. Please click register online under the event for additional information and registration instructions.

Introduction to Windows 10

IT will discuss the differences between operating systems such as; Windows 7, 8, and 10. An introduction to Microsoft Edge will be given and how it differs from Internet Explorer. A discussion concerning the use of “Cortana” versus “Siri” in the Windows 10 environment and its uses will be provided. A basic overview of various Windows 10 settings and options within the Start Menu, Control Panel, as well as how to personalize the Desktop. IT will have a brief discussion on how to utilize various applications in the Windows 10 environment.

Microsoft Surface Training

Dates: March 15, 2017

Troy Campus
Patterson Hall, Rooms 101 and 105
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Microsoft will be on campus in Troy to offer training on the Microsoft Surface.  There will be device training for the Surface as well as training for some applications used with the Surface.  There will be six breakout sessions throughout the day discussing Windows 10 and various Office 365 applications.  If you have a Surface, bring it with you!  Microsoft will have a few devices on hand for training purposes.
