IT will conduct telephony upgrades tonight, 12 July 2018, on the Phenix City and Troy campuses.
The upgrades will cause brief outages to the campus telephone service.
Tomorrow (13 July 2018), all internal extensions at the Troy campus and Phenix City campus will require a “1” prefix for calls within the campuses and between Troy and Phenix City.
No changes will occur to inbound calls or outbound calls.
As an example, my Troy campus extension is 3507. Tomorrow, users at the Troy Campus and Phenix City campus will call me at 13507. My external number will continue to be 334-670-3507.
By Monday, 16 July 2018, the Montgomery campus will participate in direct campus dial. The Montgomery extensions will have the prefix “2”.
Troy, Phenix City and Montgomery will be able to direct dial using the prefixes and existing extensions starting on Monday, 16 July 2018; you will no longer have to use the full, external number.
Emergency services will continue to be accessed via 911 at all locations. If you use a panel on your phone, those quick dial buttons will continue to work without any change.
Dothan will be upgraded in the coming months.
Please contact IT if you encounter any issues.
