How to set up voicemail:
Security code is 0000.  
Dial 13095, type in your security code and then follow the instructions.

To change your voicemail box greeting: 

Dial 13095, type in security code 
press 3 for phone manger functions
press 1 for personal options
press 3 to change your greeting
press 4 to change security code
press 5 to change name.

To check your voicemail from your extension on campus:            
Press the voicemail button or dial 13095, follow the instructions.

To check your voicemail from on campus other than your extension:

Dial 13000, when the voicemail system answers press #,

Dial your prefix and 4- digit extension number (Ex. 13339), and follow instructions.

To check your voicemail from your house:          
Dial 334-670-3000, 
When the voicemail system answers press #,

To request telephone moves, installation of new telephone lines and sets, installation of data lines please create a helpdesk ticket. Please provide as much information as possible about your request and make sure to put an account number to charge it to.

The purpose of the Telecommunications department is to manage and maintain the Troy Campus telephone system at Troy University and to provide advice and support to the Troy University system at all locations as time and resources permit; and to research ways that communications technologies can improve learning and working environments. The Telecommunications department provides quality local and long distance service to all faculty, staff and students at the most economical cost by accomplishing the services listed below.

  2. Long distance service
  3. Upkeep and maintenance of the telephone switch and sets
  4. Voicemail
  5. Consulting
  6. Engineering
  7. Installation
  8. Itemized billing statements for long distance calls
  9. Collect payments for long distance calls
  10. Provide wiring for data processing terminals throughout the Troy campus
  11. Provide wiring for telephones throughout the Troy campus
  12. Order and maintain inventory for all materials needed to perform all the above services

Voicemail

Voicemail is an automated message service that is accessed when your phone is unanswered after four rings or if you are on the other line. Voicemail provides you with the ability to personalize your telephone greeting and retrieve messages from anywhere.

How to set up voicemail for new users:

  • All new users will need to setup their phone voicemail using the password code: 852321
  • Initial connection to your voicemail box will require you change password code.
  • Input your own personal code when prompted and follow the setup instructions.

Users already configured for Voicemail

To check your voicemail from your extension on campus:

  • Dial *86
  • Alternatively, by pressing the configured Voicemail button on your phone.

To check your voicemail from your house:

  • Dial your 10 digit number. Ex. XXX-XXX-XXXX
  • When your greeting begins, Press * (Star Key)
  • Enter your VM passcode.
  • Press # (Pound Key)

Email notification for voicemails are enabled. You will automatically receive a copy of the voicemail message left in your voicemail inbox via email.

*Please note deleting the email notification voicemail does not remove the message from the Voice Mailbox. To delete the message from the Voice Mailbox, you will need to access your voicemail message management system as noted above.
